invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Das Fest des Heiligen Nikolaus ist nach wie vor ein fester Bestandteil der christlich gepr\u00e4gten Kultur. F\u00fcr viele Kinder und Familien ist der Samichlaus Besuch deshalb ein Meilenstein in der Adventszeit als Vorbereitung auf Weihnachten.<br \/>\nVielerorts erscheint der Samichlaus am 6. Dezember &#8211; dem Namenstag des Nikolaus &#8211; und verteilt Geschenke. Dieser sogenannte Einkehrbrauch stammt aus der Zeit nach der Reformation. Damals war der Samichlaus Tag das einzige Fest, an dem es f\u00fcr Kinder Geschenke gab. Weihnachten galt als ein ernstes Kirchenfest. Beim Samichlaus Besuch war es Sitte, nicht nur zu loben und zu schenken, sondern auch zu tadeln und gar zu strafen. Ab dem 17. Jahrhundert gab der Samichlaus in einigen Gegenden die gef\u00fcrchtete Rute an einen oder mehrere Begleiter ab. Diese Begleiter waren meist ungeheuerliche Gestalten, schwarz gekleidet, mit Russ beschmiert und nicht selten auch dem Teufel nachempfunden.<\/p>\n<p>Der Samichlaus Brauch zeigt seither Elemente aus verschiedenen Zeitepochen. Eindr\u00fccklich ist die Verbreitung des Samichlaus Brauchtums in ganz Europa. Der Brauch wird heute regional sehr unterschiedlich gefeiert. Auch der Namen des Samichlaus und seines Begleiters sind sehr unterschiedlich. In den Deutschschweizer Regionen besucht der Samichlaus als Bischof oder Waldchlaus zusammen mit dem Schmutzli vor allem am 6. Dezember die Kinder. Dabei verteilt der Samichlaus Lob und Tadel und je nach Gehorsam der Kinder als Gaben N\u00fcsse, Mandarinen, Schokolade und ersten Weihnachts-Guetzli. Sein Stellenwert hat allerdings ist in der westlichen christlichen Kirche an theologischer Bedeutung verloren, wogegen seine volkst\u00fcmlicher Popularit\u00e4t \u00fcber die Jahre enorm gestiegen ist. In den Kirchen des Ostens dagegen hat sich die kirchliche Bedeutung des Heiligen ungebrochen bis heute bewahrt.<\/p>\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<p>Ausl\u00f6ser des weltlichen Kultes und Brauchtums ist die Figur jenes heiligen Nikolaus, der seit dem 6. Jahrhundert in Legenden auftaucht. Aufgrund kritischer Textanalysen wissen wir heute, dass diese legend\u00e4re Figur fiktiv ist; der legend\u00e4re Nikolaus ist eine Kompilation aus zwei historischen Personen: dem Bischof Nikolaus von Myra im kleinasiatischen Lykien, der im 4. Jahrhundert gelebt hat, und dem gleichnamigen Abt von Sion, der Bischof von Pinora war, und am 10. Dezember 564 in Lykien starb.Aus diesen beiden historischen Personen entwickelte sich die ab dem 6.
